Little Less Weight = Big Benefits

Taking off just 10% of your body weight can have a big impact on your health.

A little goes a long way when it comes to weight loss. Research has shown that losing 10% of your body weight — or less – can have big payoffs for your health: LOWER BLOOD SUGAR, REDUCE BLOOD PRESSURE, IMPROVE CHOLESTEROL LEVELS, LIGHTEN THE STRESS ON HIPS, KNEES, ANKLES, AND FEET. Plus, you’ll probably have more energy, get around easier, and breathe easier.

Since summer is right around the corner, let me remind you of one of my successful weight management programs. You will decrease body fat and lose weight in 5 weeks (Phase 1) as you learn how to keep your weight in check for the rest of your life (Phase 2). I have been using this program for over 12 years in my practice.  Everyone knows that I’m not a fan of weight loss fads. You should lose weight the right way.

PHASE 1:

Everyone has a ‘set point’ and the body feels comfortable at its set point. That’s why many of you may lose a couple of pounds only to gain them back. So during this 5-week period, we reset your metabolism by taking away certain foods like pasta, rice and potatoes. After the metabolism is reset, women usually lose 12-20 lbs. of body fat and men lose 15-25 lbs. of body fat – that’s body fat and NOT muscle. (We have a machine that monitors progress, making sure that clients are losing body fat.) You will meet with us every week to record weight lost in both pounds and inches, and review food logs.

PHASE 2:

This is the most important part of the program. Here you continue to meet with us monthly to insure weight loss for life. We build a customized lifestyle program based on your specific needs – no such thing as “one-size-fits-all!”  We design a program based on the foods that are right for you. We don’t want you to gain the weight back, so that’s why this phase is so important. YOU get the tools, and YOU need to be committed to do the rest, and WE are there to help keep you on track.
